  • Add olive oil to cover the flowers.
  • Let sit (not in direct sunlight) for 3-4 weeks, shaking periodically.

Phase two:

  • After 3-4 weeks, strain the oil from the blossoms.
  • Mix 3 oz. of the infused oil with 1/2 ounce of beeswax.
  • Heat slowly to melt beeswax into oil.
  • Add a few drops of essential oils if desired.
  • Pour into a jar or other container and let cool.

This balm can be applied to the skin as a safe and natural option.

Calendula is high in flavanoids, which are plant-based anti-oxidants known to protect cells against the damage of free radicals. These cheery yellow and orange flowers have been used since the 12th century to promote healthy skin. Calendula’s properties are known to make it useful for minor cuts and scrapes, bruises, buns, bee stings and rashes.
