January 14, 2017
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This is a full-day, hands-on workshop where we will learn how various herbs can benefit us. It will be taught by Melanie Skelton. We will discuss many specific herbs and their purposes. Bring your questions about harvesting and using the herbs in your yard.
Each participant will build their own tinctures, learning the step-by-step process as we learn. You will build the following:
- a vinegar-based tincture for supporting the immune system (quart)
- a child-friendly glycerite for supporting the respiratory system in cold season (pint)
- an oil infusion for a salve with herbs known to help the skin (pint)
You will receive an instruction booklet that includes recipes and other details.
This class is limited to 5 people. Pre-registration is required. We will repeat the class on February 18th.
Location: 269 Birch St. in Tooele, Utah.
We’ll be taking a break for lunch. I’ll fix a pot of chili and some cornbread. If you want to bring anything to add to it you may, but either way you may join me for lunch or bring your own.
